The Biblical Counseling Seminar by Hope for the Heart was conducted during 21-22 March 2011 in Chennai. Fifty Church leaders and pastors from Tamil Nadu, Andhara Pradesh, and Karnataka attended.
Mr. Phil Prather, Director, Int'l Ministries, Hope For Heart, USA and Ms. Sri Latha, Master trainer, were the resource persons for the two day training.
A variety of topics from everyday life that would need counseling were handled with practical tips on how to counsel. Counseling case-study sessions (with 'Counselor and Counselee' role plays) on different topics including ‘Dealing with ANGER’ were conducted. All participants were motivated to use such counseling techniques in their / ministry.
Sets of counseling books with a variety of topics published were made available for the delegates at subsidized prices. Many of them carried these resources along with them.
CHILDREN'S BIBLE SCHOOL TEACHER TRAININGS
CBS Teacher's trainings were held at cities and towns across Tamil Nadu.More than 2000 teachers have been trained and equipped for the CBS classes this summer.

Over 2,000 people visited the Bible & Book Exhibition conducted at Secunderabad during 10-15 January, 2011. The visitors expressed how they were blessed spiritually by the abundance of scriptural books and the variety of Bibles made available to them at minimal rates.

IBL’s Patashala, formerly known as ‘School of Evangelism’, is a training program that equips Christian workers in witnessing and establishing new congregations. Patashala is conducted in partnership with national churches and Christian organizations. It trains pastors and committed workers in forming organic and self-sustaining churches in neediest and unreached geographical areas.
The one year programme for twelve trainees is divided into three terms with residential classes and field work. The trainees involve in family surveys, forming Bible Study and fellowship groups, visiting the sick, personal witnessing and distributing gospel literature.
Ruby graduated in the first batch of the Patashala conducted at her church. She and her husband Charles are helping a new church in a far away village grow. Many have been added to the kingdom and discipled by their ministry. Chinnappan is a local believer who assists Charles in the new Church.
Chinnappan had given himself to making and selling country liquor. He heard the gospel and committed his life to the Lord and started attending the Church. He gave up his liquor business and found out an alternative work to earn for his big family of 6 small children. He also had a desire along with his wife to become parents of a son after 6 daughters.Later they had a seventh offspring and that too was a girl. This simple church prayed earnestly with Chinnappan for a boy child. In due course, Chinnappan’s wife gave birth to the eighth child, a boy. Chinnappan’s joy has no bounds in following the Lord who answered his prayer. He is active in the ministry of the Church.

IBL Celebrates 60 years of Dr. William Scott’s ministry in India
Kalpakkam, 13th October
Over 300 people drawn from partners, workers and missionaries of India Bible Literature witnessed the diamond jubily celebration of the founder of India Bible Literature, during 12-14 October 2010 at TWR Dhyana Nilayam, Kalpakkam near Chennai.
Dr. Bill Scott, is popularly known in the villages as Bible Scott, along with his wife Joyce started his ministry in India six decades ago. He believed, sharing the gospel and presenting the printed Word of God in to the hands of people can only transform people and bring lasting rewards for the Kingdom of God. Using Scripture literature in Christian witnessing in the remote villages of Andhra Pradesh, he realized the need of literacy and education of the illiterate masses in Indian Villages. The humble beginning of the ministry grew as ‘India Bible Literature’ and the ‘Literacy India Trust’ spreading over to the breadth and width of the nation over the last 60 years.
“I feel Dr. Scott was just born to minister in Andhra Pradesh” said Pastor K. James from Rajmundry who has been associated with the Scotts and IBL for over forty years, not undermining Scott’s ministry to the rest of India but reiterating the impact it has made in his own part of the country. “IBL had subsidized over 1,45,000 Bibles that I distributed in Telugu alone”, said the pastor and itinerant evangelist, who has used more than 6 million IBL literature in his ministry.
Dr. Scott is a role model for missionaries and Christian ministers in India, Dr. Velayudham said, initiating the felicitation session. IBL presented Dr. Scott a diamond as a token of what he has meant for IBL and the ministry in India. Different ministry wing of IBL, and several senior staff members and partners presented mementos and gifts as token of their love and appreciation.
IBL presented gifts to 23 senior staff members, as tokens of acknowledgment for their faithful service for more than 20 years. Dr. Scott gave away the gifts.
Responding to the felicitations, Dr. Scott began:
“Thank you for the love you have demonstrated to me. My wife worked in India along with me for 52 years. I wish if she had been here today to witness. She deserves this appreciation more than I deserve. My heartfelt thanks each one of you for your fellowship for the last 60 years”. Citing a few instances, he acknowledged the Lord’s leading in the ministry in the Indian villages. He summed up: “I look forward to the future - I don’t know how long it will be- to witness the Lord’s hand more and more on this ministry in India. It is my prayer that each of us will stand with confidence as faithful servant in His kingdom for His glory”.
Dr. Sott also shared from the Word of God in the session that followed, focusing on the Abundant grace of God and His faithfulness in blessing and multiplying what is offered to Him. He had illustrated his message from life experiences in India from the 1950. He pointed out the advancement of life and facilities in India that he could watch during his life time and shared his aspirations for the ministry for the masses in the India ahead. "Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God" Dr. Scott quoted William Carrey who has been an influence in his life.

BIBLE EXPO IBL Book Exhibition was conducted at Chennai during October 2-9 at Chennai at the IBL head quarters. Lovers of Christian literature in Chennai flocked everyday, numbering 600 to 700 to select their choiced Bibles, Study Books and Spiritual and devotional literature. The response was very good and many thousands used the opportunity to collect valuable books at special prices. Every year the Book Expo is conducted at Chennai from 2nd to 9th October. Bibles and IBL's regualar publications are availble at the IBL's Book Shop, open at weakdays.

The 226th training programme was conducted at Salem Social Service Society, Salem, TN where seventy-seven animators from the state attended.

The 227th literacy training programme was arranged at St.Joseph Pastoral Centre, Gunadala, Vijaywada, AP from 15th to 19th March 2010. 116 delegates from AP received training at the four day extensive programme.
CHILDREN BIBLE SCHOOLS (CBS)

The CBSs for the year 2010 started with a twoday orientation and training in Chennai from 12-13 March 2010. 350 CBS teachers and leaders attended the trainging from CSI, ECI, Luthran, Brethren, Church of Christ, Pentecostal, independent churches and several ministry organizations. The new CBS books, songs CDs and DVDs were released at the meeting.
Vellore
Over 300 trainees attended the CBS teachers’ training held at Zion Pentecostal Church, Vellore during 26-27 March 2010.
CBS training programmes were also arranged at Trichy, Erode, Tuticorin, Salem, Madurai, Marthandam, Thindivanam and Chidambaram.

The World Map Pastors’ Spiritual Renewal Conference 2010
Vijayawada
700 pastors attended the spiritual renewal conference which was organized at Zion’s Bible College, Gunadla, Vijayawada, AP, from February 23-26.
Pune
The conference at Pune was held at Union Biblical Seminary during 1—19 February. 300 pastors attended.
Dr. Frank Parrish, Rev. Vic Torres, Dr. E. Velayudham, Rev. M. P. Prasanna and Pastor Don, Mr. Anthony were the speakers and leaders at the meetings.
